Mike Jones joins Rose Legal Services with more than 20 years of focused criminal defense experience, including significant work in both state and federal courts. Over the course of his career, he has handled complex cases from initial investigation through trial, appeal, and post-conviction proceedings, bringing a deep understanding of criminal law, procedure, and strategy.
Michael earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Columbia, graduating near the top of his class and receiving numerous academic honors, including Order of the Coif and multiple awards for excellence in legal writing and advocacy. He began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable E. Richard Webber in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, gaining early exposure to high-level federal litigation.
Throughout his career, Michael has represented clients in a wide range of criminal matters, including federal cases, serious felony charges, and DWI-related offenses. He has briefed and argued cases before the United States Courts of Appeals for the 6th, 7th, and 8th Circuits, as well as Missouri appellate courts, and has played a key role in cases that helped shape legal precedent. He has also served as lead trial counsel and trial assistant in high-volume practices, handling jury trials, motion practice, and complex legal issues.
Michael’s experience spans more than 70 counties across Missouri and Illinois, and he has handled everything from preliminary hearings and probation matters to jury trials and appellate advocacy. His approach is grounded in careful preparation, detailed legal analysis, and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcome in every case.
