Dedicated to reform, advocacy, and community impact.
Brian Ireland joins Rose Legal Services as a Criminal Defense Attorney after serving as an Assistant Public Defender in St. Louis County. In that role, he represented clients charged with felony and misdemeanor offenses, managing a demanding caseload and advocating for individuals at every stage of the criminal process — from initial appearance through motion practice, negotiation, and courtroom litigation.
Brian earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law after completing his Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Law is a second career for Brian, and his professional background gives him a distinctive strength as a defense attorney.
Before entering the legal profession, Brian spent years in journalism and public policy leadership. As Managing Editor of the St. Louis Metro Evening Whirl and Associate Editor of Cry Justice Newspaper, he focused extensively on crime, justice, and community issues. He also served as an on-air personality on KNLC – Channel 24’s News & Views, participating in public policy discussions and interviewing elected officials, community leaders, and nonprofit representatives.
That experience sharpened his ability to analyze complex facts, communicate persuasively, and remain composed under pressure — skills that translate directly into effective courtroom advocacy. Brian approaches each case with disciplined preparation, strategic thinking, and a commitment to protecting his clients’ rights at every step.
At Rose Legal Services, he brings strong writing ability, clear communication, and a deep-rooted commitment to justice and community advocacy.
